Jamieson visited the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology on Sept. 12 2023 and stopped in the Single Molecule Lab. The Lab contains microscopes and lasers used by the Spies' Lab to study DNA replication and repair mechanisms at single molecule level. Jamieson met members of the Spies lab. The group discussed how molecular mechanisms and structures of genome maintenance proteins help researchers identify differences between cancer cells and normal cells and guide drug discovery.
